The holidays are over, and I”m pretty happy about this. It’s a time of year when it’s difficult to eat as healthfully as we normally do, what with parties, baked good everywhere you turn, and eggnog. Oh, the eggnog. But, my body actually doesn’t appreciate eating like this. Sweets get old for me pretty quickly (though I had some amazing dark chocolate & caramel with sea salt bark that totally rocked my world), and I am yearning for some simpler, more basic fare.
On the Menu will return next week. This week it’s getting the refrigerator and freezer restocked, using up some of the odds and ends from holiday food (the odd squash that didn’t get used, etc.), and mostly just eating as many vegetables as we can fit on a plate.
